Blog Tour/Review + giveaway: Meritropolis by Joel Ohman (Meritropolis, #1)

Meritropolis by Joel Ohman
(Meritropolis, #1)
Publication date: September 8th 2014
Genres: Dystopia, Young Adult

Synopsis:
In Meritropolis everyone is assigned a numerical Score that decides their worth to society and whether they live or die. After a young boy is killed because of a low Score, his brother plots to take down the System.
The year is AE3, 3 years after the Event. Within the walls of Meritropolis, 50,000 inhabitants live in fear, ruled by the brutal System that assigns each citizen a merit score that dictates whether they live or die. Those with the highest scores thrive, while those with the lowest are subject to the most unforgiving punishment–to be thrust outside the city gates, thrown to the terrifying hybrid creatures that exist beyond.
But for one High Score, conforming to the System just isn’t an option. Seventeen-year-old Charley has a brother to avenge. And nothing–not even a totalitarian military or dangerous science–is going to stop him.
Where humankind has pushed nature and morals to the extreme, Charley is amongst the chosen few tasked with exploring the boundaries, forcing him to look deep into his very being to discern right from wrong. But as he and his friends learn more about the frightening forces that threaten destruction both without and within the gates, Meritropolis reveals complexities they couldn’t possibly have bargained for…

My Thoughts:

This review won't be too long , I stayed up last night  till 2 am finishing this book and it is 6:43 am right now and I have to be at work in 50 minutes so this won't be too long , but it will be a very positive review!

This books was phenomenal! fantastic! with my luck liking review books I thought I was  not going to like this, but I super loved it, why haven't I seen this book before?  I am guilty for buying or judging a book by the cover, this book cover is ugly, let's be honest, but please everyone  if you are a person like me  do not let that stop you from reading it!
The world that Mr. Ohman created was so unique, even as dangerous as it was I would have loved to be there  and hang out with Charley. Meritropolis is a city where the "System" keep 50,000 people and score them , the score system wasn't too clear to me, how do they exactly score them? based on what?  For what I got , I guess it was based on what you can do and offer to the city, based on your health, strength, intellectual .  Also the 'Event' wasn't explained very well, at least for me since I am a kind of person that liked specifics on how and why to understand better.
Outside the gates is a very dangerous world and those with low scores are put out and get rid of them, most likely that they get eating by some mutated creature. It did not matter  how old the person was, if the System decided they were worthless and had low score they kill them, by leaving them out.
Charley got his brother with down syndrome put out  the gates and he sword revenge.
I loved Charley his character is so cool and smart. My favorite parts of the book was the hunting . I just loved the group Hank, Sandy , and Charley .
This book is so well written, it needs to be on every book store. Seriously, every time I go to the bookstore they always have the same super duper popular books, we need that space  for fresh books, like this. All the characters were also good. I usually get pissed with characters, but in this book everyone got in my good side!
Book is perfect fr the Hunger Games fans!
