Top Ten Tuesday: New TBR Books

Before we get into the list for this week, we wanted to announce something special! Last November, we had planned on doing a big giveaway for reaching 15,000 views here on the blog. However, life (and having to use our disposable income on Christmas presents) got in the way of that plan and we decided to put it on hold for a few months. But now that things have settled down, we want to announce that February will start a month-long giveaway here on JUBB to celebrate that we have now surpassed 23,000 views! Every week we will have a new set of prizes to be won. More details to come, so make sure and stay tuned!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish.

This week's theme asked us to come up with a list of the most recent books that we added to our TBR lists.

Typically, I try to avoid time travel. I have never had any luck with it, but it seems like more and more interesting time travel books are coming out and I keep getting sucked in by pretty covers.

I had ignored this book for a long time, just because the cover did absolutely nothing for me and I really didn't give it a second glance to even find out what it was about. But after seeing it on several TTT's over the past few weeks, I decided I should check it out. And it sounds pretty great!

Historical fiction is so, so SOOO far from anything I like to read. However, this sounds so cute! And to be honest, they had me at "one of a kind fantasy in the tradition of The Princess Bride." Sold!

There seems to be a lot of Sherlock re-imaginings lately, and I'm all for a male/female duo change up!

This just sounds really awesome!

I super duper loved Kiersten White's Paranormalcy series, and I am really eager to see how she does with a sword and sorcery fantasy!

Even though I haven't really been in the mood for fantasy lately, I think this one sounds really good!

  1. I feel torn over Schwab's books. I didn't particularly care for A Darker Shade of Magic (I'm in the minority, for sure), but I loved The Archived series. I think I just need to read more of her work. :D
I've read and ARC of A Study in Charlotte and it is very good! I've got a review scheduled for 2/25/16.

  3. These all look great! The Lady Jane book confuses me though -- I can't imagine how it's a comedy. :) I'm looking forward to A Darker Shade of Magic too. Have fun!

    1. I'm a total newbie at it, but I'm happy to help with what I do know! I can walk you through some tips, or set some things up for you :) shoot me an email at Allyson.christine.g@gmail.com if you'd like! All of the programs I use are freeware, so it doesn't cost anything at all to start playing around with it!

  6. I already had most of these on my TBR, but I hadn't heard of 'Daughters Unto Devils' - it's the kind of book I will really enjoy, so that's gone straight on my list!

  7. The Orphan Queen looks good, love that cover, and so does Truthwitch. And Return Once More is one I wanted to read but never did when it came out... thanks for reminding me of that one. :) I've heard it's good.

  11. I think I have almost every book on this list on my TBR too! I read A Darker Shade of Magic last year, it's so good, you need to catch up since the next book will be released in only five weeks! :D The Orphan Queen is also great, I went into it with low expectations and when I finished it... I was obsessed with it!

  12. Great picks. I'm very excited for Riders to be released. I loved Veronica Rossi's first series, and I have And I Darken and Ruined on my TTT for this week.
I need to add Truthwitch to my to-read list, I've read some great reviews for it already :)

  13. WOW! I love the graphics on your blog! And that is SUCH an awesome TBR! I can't believe I didn't put like all of these on my TTT - I've been dying to read pretty much all of them.
