Top Ten Tuesday: Creepy Covers!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.
As you could maybe tell by the design of our blog, creepy isn't something we do well with here at JUBB. I (Allyson), am a HUGE chicken, and the stupidest stuff can scare the crap out of me. Horror fans have told me how wimpy and ridiculous Welcome to the Dark House by Laurie Faria Stolarz was, and yet that book kept me up for a week straight, terrified of the Nightmare Elf! So that being said, bear in mind that we don't read a lot of creeptastic books, and have therefore opted to go in the direction of sharing some covers that have thoroughly creeped us out.

1. Night Shift by Stephen King
I have no problems about book covers with ONE eye on it, but this one is disturbing. all those eyes in the palm make my hair stand . Feels like they are going to pop up or something. It is disgusting.

2. Anna Dressed In Blood by Kendare Blake
It is not too scary the cover, but the book is very scary at times. (By the way,  I totally recommend this book for those Supernatural fans!)

3. It by Stephen King
I did not read the book , but I did watch the movie, and it changed how I feel about clowns.

4. It's Easy to Play Classical Themes
Holy shit! This cover is verra disturbing, creepy, wrong... you name it! I will think twice before sending any of my children to learn how play piano.

5. Scary Stories Treasury
That is a very creepy cover, I wanted to get it for my daughter but she refused. I can't say that I blame her.

6. Tales of the Undead: Hell Whore
Ew. Just freaking ew. I have two pretty intense fears, zombies and dinosaurs. But really, what freaks me out the most about this cover is how the eye peaks out of the "O" of Whore.

7. Evil Within by Nancy Holder
The face on the ghostly girl is ridiculously terrifying. I don't even know what this book is about, but I'd be hesitant to bring it home cause I am just that kind of chicken.

8. Diary of a Haunting by M Verano
NO. Can't do it folks. Even if it sounds like the best book in the world, it's not coming in my house.

9. Devouring by Simon Holt
Again with the ew. Times infinity. This cover gives me the mega creeps.

10. Asylum by Madeleine Roux
A creepy cover that I actually own! Now, actually finding the balls to read it is an entirely different matter.

11. Shutter by Courtney Alameda
And now for a creepy cover that I actually want to own. The ghost is creepy, but not so creepy that I will ignore how good it sounds to give it a chance.

  1. I haven't read IT yet either, but i kind of don't like clowns as it is, and i am not sure if it is a good idea ;)

  6. I'm not into scary book, myself. As a youngster, I couldn't stand watching even Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde.

    1. Scary is overrated! There are so many other genres out there that are worth exploring that won't give us heart attacks :p

  7. You're not alone in your fears of scary stuff. I never watch horror movies and I honestly found a lot of those books too disturbing to even look at for more than a few seconds, lol. I did think Allyson's list was a whole lot scarier. That "It's easy to play classical themes" made me laugh. Who thought of that picture?? Also, thank you Allyson for dropping by my blog!
