This week's topic is to pick a popular book, and show another less well-known alternative that fans of the popular book might like as well.
This was way harder than I could have imagined! While the books chosen may not necessarily be considered popular, I did try to make sure and pick authors that have a pretty large fan base!
Marianne Stillings writes absolutely hilarious romance novels that still have the suspense and danger element to them. Fans of Lori Foster could easily devour Marianne Stillings' work and still be dying for more. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Tris and Aria don't have all that much in common in the beginning, but throughout the book Aria starts to grow into someone Tris would definitely fight alongside. Perry and Four share quite a few similarities as well. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Teen girls who have to deal with the fact that they both can turn into dragons. There are a lot of similarities in both books, and if you loved one, it's almost certain you'll love the other. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Angels on earth with crafty plans and life or death scenarios. If you liked Hush, Hush, there is a good chance you'll love A Beautiful Dark. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
This one is a little funny for me to be recommending, as I wasn't actually a huge fan of Stardust as a book. However, I think these two books hold enough similarities, that if you loved Stardust, there is a more than fair chance that you will love Magonia as well. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Was a Beautiful Dark kind of similar to Hush Hush? I had to stop reading it at the beginning.

DeleteLike you, I'm not a big fan of Stardust the book (loved the movie). Magonia is on my TBR and I'm hoping I like it better than Stardust. :)
ReplyDeleteMagonia seriously blew me away! It's easily my favorite read of this year. It's not quite as funny/quirky as Stardust tried to be, but they do feel really similar.

I loved Vampire Academy for sure and I have the JLA series I just haven't picked it up yet, girl puts out a TON of books lol. Also read and enjoyed City of Bones, Divergent, and Hush, Hush and have seen about the other ones might have to give them more attention now. I also I have the 5th wave and Of Poseidon but haven't read them yet. Shame I know.

I really enjoyed Hush, Hush - especially the first two novels so I'm adding A Beautiful Dark to my wishlist. I've been thinking about reading Half Blood for a while now - and now that you recommended it next to VA, I'll surely pick it up. :)
