Top Ten Tuesdays: Authors We Have Read the Most From

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Authors We've Read The Most Books From

Allyson's List

Tamora Pierce is literally one of the most amazing authors I have ever had the pleasure to read. The women she writes are strong and confident, and they go after what their heart's want, even in a world that is telling women to sit down, shut up and let men do the fighting. While she has a lot of different series, they can be broken down into series set in Tortall and the series set in Emelan. While the Circle books, which are set in Emelan, are good, her Tortall series is just amazing. Anyone who likes fantasy and strong female characters can find something to love in Pierce's work.

Kelley Armstrong is another author who knows how to write strong women. Her Women of the Otherworld series is a great paranormal romance series, featuring lots of women kicking ass and taking names. She also has a young adult series set in the same world, which is just as amazing, just without all of the naughty bits. Kelley Armstrong excels at writing women characters you can identify with, and male characters that can make your heart melt.

Jennifer Crusie writes contemporary romance that is sure to make you laugh and fall in love with a zany cast of characters along the way. I've read all of her books, and they are all charming and fun and guaranteed to leave you wanting more of her writing. Unfortunately, her last full length novel, Maybe This Time, was released in 2010, and there is no word on release dates for any of her current works in progress.

Meg Cabot is one of, if not the most hilarious authors I have read. All of her books are guaranteed to make you wince in empathetic embarrassment, laugh at the absurdity of life, and really wish for characters to get their act together and fall in love already.

I am, unfortunately, embarrassed to have this author on this list, given that I should have given up at least a good 6 books before I finally did. But I held out hope that her Anita Blake series would return to its former glory, and I was repeatedly let down. That being said, if you want to read some really amazing vampire books with an amazingly kick ass heroine, you should definitely give her Anita Blake series a shot. The first 8 or 9 books in that series are just phenomenal. But they do take a downward turn and never recover. If you're willing to stop in the middle of a series and pretend that it's the end, then I can highly recommend them!
