EXCERPT:
I swung back and forth for a while, letting the breeze settle my nerves. I don’t know how long I was out there for, but eventually, I heard a car pull up. The door shut and footsteps thumped up the stairs.
“Hello,” a masculine voice drifted towards me.
I opened my eyes and was greeted with crystal blue eyes, messy brown hair, a lopsided smirk and six feet of tall, lean man.
“Er…um…hi,” I croaked out. Okay…the man was gorgeous. Pretty sure I was blushing.
“Haley?” gorgeous mystery man asked.
I nodded. I didn’t know who this guy was, but he seemed to know me. And if I opened my mouth to ask him, I’m sure I would sound like an idiot again.
He gave me that adorable lopsided grin again. “Eli.” He pointed at himself, like I should know who he was. Eli was leaning against the porch railing, staring at me with amusement in his eyes. Maybe if he wasn’t so damn attractive I could get my brain to start working again. But for now, I could only stare.
“You don’t remember me, do you?” he asked. “The four of us hung out together when I roomed with Noah in the dorms.”
Holy shit. This man in front of me couldn’t be Noah’s roommate. There was no possible way he was the same guy. I hung out with the kid all the time, and this guy…no, not him. Not him at all.
“You look nothing like you did freshman year.” I blurted out. Then quickly turned red and clamped my hand over my mouth.
Oh God, he’s going to think you are the biggest idiot.
Eli laughed. “I was a lot scrawnier back then. Had longer hair. Wore thick framed glasses all the time.” His voice still sounded the same. That was something at least. “When I moved back home to help my mom, I worked with my uncle at his construction company. I guess that helped me gain a little muscle.” He shrugged like he was not confident with how he looked.
The more I stared at him, the more he was becoming familiar. Freshman year, he was this quiet, slightly nerdy kid. He always wore comic book t-shirts. He had spent most of his time on his computer or playing video games with Noah. Kyler had kept telling me that he had a crush on me, and she even begged me to go out with him a few times, but I always came up with reasons I couldn’t. Mostly those excuses dealt with my crush at that time—Drew. Blah. I was so not going to think about that douche when Eli was standing in front of me.
I mean, I enjoyed hanging out with him as a friend, but dating? He was definitely not what I thought my type was. Though, what I thought my type was turned out to be a bunch of jerks, so maybe I should have given the nice guy a chance.
“You okay?” he asked gently, pushing off the railing and taking a seat next to me on the swing. “You seem lost in thought.”
I shrugged, not knowing what to say.
“You don’t remember me, do you?”
“Oh no, I do.”

Book blitz + Giveaway : A Summer With Snow Hallie Swanson

A Summer With Snow
Hallie Swanson
(Frosted Seasons, #1)
Publication date: November 24th 2015
Genres: Adult, Romance
It was the summer of 2005, probably the most memorable summer of my life. I was twelve years old, six weeks we spent together, forty two days, in that time our friendship grew, and then without warning he upped and left. I always hoped he’d come back to us, I couldn’t let go of his memory. He became my first, my only teenage crush. Every day he was in my mind, and every night he was in my dreams. Ten years on this man is still my secret obsession no matter how many men I’ve met and dated, nobody ever measured up. Even today, all I can think about is the summer of 2005, the summer I spent with Snow.

EXCERPT:
“Darcy, lift your arms above your head,” he says, standing directly before me.
His tanned physique is to die for. Steam wafts up from his broad chest. There’s a slight gap between us, yet he feels so warm. Standing here like this is everything I’ve ever pictured in my dreams; every sensation, every ounce of feeling rushes through the core of my body. The tips of his fingers take the edge of my T-shirt, and holding onto the cotton material they slowly glide up past my waist, past my breasts, and with my arms raised, past my fingers. I glance down as he drops my top onto the bed. Encased by his arms, he unclips the fastenings of my bra. I sense his chest has cooled as he leans his bare flesh against my breasts. I lower my eyes, expecting him to lift me onto the bed, and I’ve no desire to fight him. He rests his cheek against mine, and I flinch as his stubble rubs against my face. His lips part as they press against my ear, and I tilt my head ever so slightly so that they can move down to my neck.
“You shower, Darcy; I left the water running.”
His fingers, his lips slip away and he walks to the far side of the bed, still rubbing at his hair. Is he acting like the perfect gentleman or, after the way I’ve acted, is he just too scared to make the first move? As I look over his body the thought of him inside me is making me wet. I blush, feeling embarrassed at my own thoughts. What’s happening to you, Darcy?
Filled with frustration, I saunter into a bathroom of wall-to-wall mirrors. I step out of my trousers and my black lace panties, and from the cold tiled floor into the shower. Blinded by steam, I lean my head back against the striking white wall tiles. I blink, screwing up my eyes as they are hit by jets of hot water. Taking the lathered soap from its porcelain dish, I rub it between my palms, touching my face, my arms. I begin circling my hands over my skin, trying to wash my frustration away; on reaching my breasts I circle my nipples … they are hard against my fingers. Still covered in soap and water, my hands dip down to my waist and on between my legs; slowly I begin to rub myself. I take his advice and pretend that’s it’s not me here, but someone else. Losing myself in my head, I feel I’m also losing my inhibitions.
“Snow!” I cry out. “Can you come here?”

Review : A Gift of Poison by Kate Avery Ellison

As the orphaned niece of a cruel lord, Briand is the scapegoat of the castle. She has few friends and even fewer options, and every day is a struggle to stay ahead of trouble caused by malicious guards and irritable castle servants.

Briand is set to be banished to the wildlands, a death sentence, when she when she accidentally unlocks a hidden power and involves herself in a rebel plot and her life abruptly changes. Imprisoned in the company of a band of rebels, Briand must do what seems impossible: call up sleeping dragons in the north. But the fearsome Prince's assassins called Seekers are looking for her, Briand doesn't know if she can trust the mysterious, enigmatic rebel leader Kael, and there might be a traitor in the rebels' midst.

 My Thoughts

I want to thank Giselle from Xpresso Book Tours  for the review copy :)

OK about the book... it started pretty well I really thought I was going to super love it . Briand was living with her uncle after her dad died. She was in trouble most of the time and for some reason nobody liked her. Everyone treated her like crap including servants from the castle. So it happened to be that she was the only one that could talk to dragons and she had to be pretected.
Kael was the leader of some resistance group against the new cruel prince , so he and his crew had to take Briand to some safe place so she could help them destroy the new prince.
OK first of all, when you read about Kael the author makes him look so fearsome ,and it says on the book that everyone is terrified of him,but when you get to the scenes with Kael he is always such a nice  and sweet guy he doesn't even give you the impression that he has authority over his group at all so I do not understand why everyone was afraid of him.

Then you had Nath he was a fucking moron he treated Briand like crap , he beat the poor girl and nobody did anything about it,  he hated the girl and you do not even know why? what was his problem?

Going back to Briand... I stopped reading the book at 64% because from good went to boring, but so far  did not know what was this girl's problem, why was she getting in trouble all the time, why was she gambling, fighting, why everyone was so mean to her.
How did her dad die? If her uncle was in love with her mom, why would he even call her a whore?
The time and the place, the world this was set in it wasn't too clear, I was just confused, very confused.
Too bad this book had potential.

And now she’s starting over far away from the person she used to be.
Lyric Hayes tried to be the perfect daughter and the perfect girlfriend, but those days are over. She’s ready to begin again with a vow to herself: no relationships, no complications, and no turning back.
Easier said than done…
Confident, successful, and charming David Pearson makes her vow nearly impossible. He has it all, and David knows better than anyone not to judge someone by what’s on the surface. Wanting to own her heart, he’ll do anything to gain her trust and save her from herself. But David’s family could have secrets and baggage of their own, which could send Lyric packing and on the run once again. Is his past just another version of a song Lyric has heard before?
Never Wanted More (Nashville Nights 1.5)
Originally part of the Southern Seduction Box Set
Never Wanted More is book 1.5 in the Nashville Nights series
Peyton Williams is spoiled, entitled and a little too stuck up. The daughter of an influential Mayor and a socialite mother, she’s trying to get through college and make her own path. She’s perfectly happy being a loner until Spring semester when she gets not only a roommate, but a math tutor.
Wyatt Parker is the boy from the wrong side of town. Known as the son of the town tramp, he jumps at the scholarship to play basketball in Nashville where no one knows his roots. Spending this semester tutoring a friend’s snobby roommate wasn’t what he envisioned, but Peyton quickly gets under his skin.
Peyton never wanted more until she met Wyatt, but is she willing to be what he needs?
Everything I Shouldn’t: Jeremy & SarahBeth #1 (Nashville Nights Book 2)
It’s been eight days, sixteen hours and forty-seven minutes since life as I know it ended. I know, it sounds so melodramatic and teen-soap worthy, but it’s the truth. Eight days, sixteen hours and forty-seven minutes since David found out. Since he kicked Jeremy out, ended their friendship and told me I could never see him again.
I didn’t plan on David getting suspicious, and I definitely didn’t plan on getting caught. My selfishness has cost Jeremy everything, my brother won’t even look at me, Lyric must hate me for practically blackmailing her to keep silent and my best friend is barely speaking to me.
Now my life is full of secrets and lies. The people around me have been affected by the choices I’ve made and the lies I’ve told. But what will they do when they discover the biggest secret of them all?
Jeremy is everything I shouldn’t want, and the person I can’t live without.
Everything I Need: Jeremy & SarahBeth #2 (Nashville Nights Book 3)
SarahBeth Pearson has made mistakes, and I might just be the biggest one of them all. After spending months keeping secrets and lying to everyone close to us, it’s all fallen apart and we are each left alone to pick up the pieces.
I’ve loved SarahBeth in one form or another her entire life. The steps that brought us closer together weren’t easy for me to take. After letting her dictate our relationship, I’ve found myself practically homeless and estranged from my closest friends.
Now I’m left trying to move on, finding a new place to live and getting everything I need in order, while she’s trying to mend her broken heart. There’s just one problem…SarahBeth’s still keeping secrets – and her secret just might change everything.
Pretending He’s You (Nashville Nights Book 4)
Part One of Two
Olivia Barrett’s always had a weakness for bad boys and Tyler Chamberlain is no exception. His tattoos, his piercings, and even the fact that he has a girlfriend doesn’t keep her away.
Interested in Tyler since she first saw him pick up a guitar, she’s been trying to find ways to be with him for years. He’s the one Livvie runs to when she needs a friend, the one who makes her laugh and holds her when she needs to cry. Unfortunately, they are never single at the same time and sneaking around is getting old.
Now, tired of making bad decisions, Livvie’s making changes. Her friends are all starting to grow up and she doesn’t want to be left behind. Terrified her friends are moving on without her, she’s determined to make things work with Emmett, her on-again off-again boyfriend since high school.
The only problem? Tyler isn’t ready to let her go. Despite her boyfriend and his girlfriend, these two are drawn together like magnets. When she’s with Emmett she wishes she was with Tyler and vice versa.
Will Livvie ever get tired of pretending and pick one guy? Or will she keep bouncing back and forth between the two of them indefinitely?
Note: This book contains themes of infidelity which may be a trigger for some readers

Everything I Need Excerpt

Hope can be both wonderful and awful, but the death of hope is just plain painful. That day I began seriously doubting Jeremy's love for me. I just couldn't believe that after everything he was choosing not to see me, rejecting me once more. Jeremy had become my everything... even though he's everything I shouldn't have. He is the first and only man I've ever loved, my only lover, more my best friend than Livvie and yet he continues to turn me away. It makes me doubt every single thing we've ever been to each other.
Her eyes widen slightly in recognition, she remembers me. That will make the rejection even more humiliating if she tells me I'm still on Jeremy's "don't want to see" list. "Can I help you?" Her voice is so snotty. The condescending way she's speaking to me makes me want to yank her obvious extensions out and claw her eyes out with my now non-existent nails.
I open my mouth to tell her I'm here to see him when the voice I've been dying to hear asks in disbelief, "SarahBeth?" Squeezing my eyes shut, I turn to face him. When I open them, Jeremy's the only thing I see. I soak in the sight of him, dressed in a navy blue suit, wearing his square black glasses and looking like he's not shaved in a couple days, I say nothing; finally being in his presence has rendered me speechless.
"What are you doing here?" He asks, his voice is stern, his eyes hard and cold and completely different from the Jeremy I know. He doesn't make a move to touch me, but I can't keep myself from moving closer to him. My heart breaks a little when he steps back, keeping the distance between us.
Giving him what I hope is a reassuring smile, I say, "I came to talk to you. I need to talk to you. I'm..." my voice breaks and my hand goes to my heart, an unconscious act of self- protection. "I'm so sorry for everything. For not..."
"Stop." Jeremy holds up a hand, looking around us at the curious audience we are attracting. The tension between us is obvious, and everyone likes a real life soap opera.
Suddenly self-conscious, and fully aware that he's not the person who likes his personal business out there for the world to see, I ask, "Can we talk for a minute? I'll go anywhere you want." I'm close to begging, terrified this isn't going to end well. He doesn't say a word, just nods as he gestures to the hallway where I know his office is.
As we walk past the reception desk, the girl behind it glares at me. It's immature of me, but the nerves fluttering in my stomach and the insecurity I'm feeling comes out as snark. "Guess I don't need your help after all." Her glare deepens and I hear Jeremy sigh behind me.
"Behave yourself, SarahBeth." Then, he says to her, "Hold my calls until I tell you otherwise, okay Tonya?" She nods, smiling widely up at him as he follows me back to his office in a way that makes me want to shank her. I hate feeling jealous over other women. It just reminds me where we were a few short weeks ago. He doesn't speak, doesn't touch me, just follows along behind me, the small distance between us feels insurmountable.

Everyone needs a hero.
That’s what Detective Molly Masters tells me. “What we need,” she says, “what the whole world needs,” she pleads, “is a champion.”
The only thing I want to talk about with Molly Masters is how I’d like to make her scream my name when I push her up against a wall, slide my hand up her thigh, and live out my wildest fantasies.
“Someone who will fight against injustice,” she says.
I’ll fight against anything you want, honey. Just come a little closer.
“Someone who will stand tall in the face of adversity,” she says.
I’ll do it standing, sitting, or lying down. See how easy I am?
“Someone who believes in the value of a good deed,” she says.
I believe in the value of me, sweetheart. Because I’m Lincoln Wade. Jaded genius, obscenely wealthy, capable of violence, and looking for revenge.
Molly Masters might have delusions of grandeur. She might see me as some superman capable of cleaning up the scum, filth, and corruption in Cathedral City.
But I’m not the hero she’s looking for.
I’m the dark alley where all her good intentions hide.
